This application is still open for comment - closing date15th Oct, although a couple of days past this date will surely be fine.

This site is part of the phase 1 Small Sites Affordable Homes Programme being brought forward by Kingston council as the applicant.

The response from the North Kingston Forum committee is in its final stages of preparation and will be submitted to the council in the next day or so. It will be available to view on the Forum website Planning Response page by the end of the week.

Planning updates

Nikon House: 19/03090/FUL | Demolition of the existing buildings and the erection of a self-storage facility (Use Class B8) with associated vehicular access and servicing, car and cycle parking, and landscape works. | Nikon House 380 Richmond Road Kingston Upon Thames KT2 5PR

This planning application was heard at the Development Control Committee meeting (2nd Sept) and unanimously agreed by the committee of 11 cross party members. A full decision notice has yet to be issued as a number of conditions were applied at the meeting and it is presumed the council and applicant are still in discussion. Forum Committee's response.

19/02677/FUL | Demolition of the existing buildings and the erection of a part 9, 8 & 5 storey mixed use development fronting Richmond Road providing an A1/A3 use on the ground floor; 15 residential units on the ground and upper floors; erection of a 2-storey replacement building fronting Canbury Park Road to provide ancillary residential facilities at basement, ground and first floors; and provision of associated landscaping; cycle and refuse storage and associated works. | 16-18 Richmond Road & 2 Canbury Park Road Kingston Upon Thames London KT2 5EB

It was great news that this planning application was refused by a majority vote at the same DC Committee as Nikon House but, as expected, the applicant is making an appeal through Hardwickes of Lincoln's Inn. Forum Committee's response

20/02053/FUL | Demolition of existing three storey building, (previously converted into 2no.x flats), and erection of a four storey building comprising 7no. x flats with associated basement accommodation, car parking and reconfigured access. | The Coigne 84 Lower Ham Road Kingston Upon Thames KT2 5BB.

This is a significant historic property in the CA25 Conservation Area within an area prone to flooding. Forum Committee response

I suspect the Kingston upon Thames Society and the Kingston Town Conservation Area Advisory Committee will respond.

Canbury Car Park: There is still no confirmed indication when this might go to the DCC committee for determination, but we will keep you updated as and when. Forum committee response.
